ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: A slight decrease has been witnessed in crime rate in the Federal Capital during the year 2015 as a total of 7751 cases were registered during the year, compared to 8325 cases registered in the previous year.

The decrease was witnessed in murder cases as 148 cases were registered in the year 2014 and 110 in 2015. Similarly, attempt to murder cases also declined as 150 cases were registered in 2014 and 130 during 2015 while 403 hurt cases were registered in last year and 372 during 2015.

Overall dacoity, robbery, burglary and theft incidents also decreased as 1364 cases were registered under these crime heads during 2014 as compared to 1008 cases in 2015.

According to the data of crime cases available with APP, more cases were registered under arms recovery as 835 were reported in the year 2014 and 947 in 2015 while 1929 cases were reported under Foreign Act during 2014 as compared to 2034 cases in 2015.

It is to mention that ratio of registered cases against those possessing illegal weapons and narcotics went high in 2015 after arrest of those involved in such activities.

However, an increase was witnessed in rape (zina)/kidnapping cases as 205 such cases were reported in 2014 and 245 in 2015. Around 112 fatal accidents were reported in 2014 and 140 in 2015 and 101 non-fatal accidents in 2014 and 112 in 2015.
