LAHORE, Pakistan: The Center for Social Justice (CSJ) will organize a Minorities Day Convention at Aiwan-e-Iqbal in Lahore on August 17, seeking to highlight the challenges and opportunities for protection and promotion of minorities’ rights on the occasion of the National Minorities’ Day.
The People’s Commission for Minorities Rights (PCMR), the National Commission for Justice and Peace (NCJP), the Cecil & Iris Chaudhary Foundation (CICF), the Ajoka Theatre, and the Ministry for Human Rights and Minorities Affairs are also Collaborating with the CSJ in organizing the Minorities Day Convention from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm tomorrow.
The Center for Social Justice’s aim is to bring together around 300-350 participants including civil society, religious minorities leadership and representatives of the mainstream political parties.
Besides speeches by key stakeholders, a musical program, theatre performance and publication display will be part of this event.
The CSJ is a Lahore-based civil society which engages in research, policy advocacy and capacity building concerning human rights, peace-building, democratic development and social justice. It organizes a policy dialogue with the government authorities, educational institutions, human rights institutions and civil society stakeholders.
