ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: A total of 356 posts in various cadres are lying vacant in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration and Establishment Division has been contacted to give approval for recruitment against these jobs.

“In various cadres from BS-1 to BS-19, 356 posts are presently lying vacant in different offices or departments of ICT Administration whereas more than 400 posts are also vacant in ICT police,” an official told APP on Wednesday.

He said that case for completing the codal formalities including No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Establishment Division for filling up the vacant posts as per policy of government is under process. As soon as the formalities are completed, he said recruitment to vacant posts would be made accordingly.

During the last five years, he said that 996 persons were appointed in various offices & departments of ICT Administration including ICT Police.

He said that 963 inductions were made in Islamabad Police while only 33 persons on various cadres were appointed in ICT administration.

He said that more than 30 per cent posts are lying vacant in Basic Health Units (BHUs) and Rural Health Centres (RHCs) of Islamabad.

He lamented over the situation in Islamabad by saying “if this is the condition of health care infrastructure here then what we can expect from  other areas.”

Talking about efforts of ICT bosses about inductions particularly in health department, he said that the ICT administration had planned to appoint medical staff at these health care units but most people are unwilling to serve in rural areas if they are not offered any additional incentives.

When contacted, one of the high-up in ICT confirmed about more than 300 posts lying vacant and said that the posts would be filled after clearance from Establishment Division and Ministry of Finance.
