FAISALABAD, Pakistan: As many as 299 uplift schemes are being completed in Faisalabad division at a cost of Rs8.72 billion under the Punjab annual development programme.

The schemes include: roads, water supply, drainage and construction of official buildings of different departments.

This was stated by Divisional Commissioner Capt. R. Nasim Nawaz here on Tuesday while giving the briefing to the teams of officers of 18th Senior Management Course at National Management College Lahore visited here under inland study tour programme.

The team was headed by Faculty Advisor Tariq Najeeb Najmi. RPO Ehsan Tufail, Addl. Commissioner Revenue Khadim Jilani, Assistant Commissioners Rafia Haider, Mahr Shafqatullah Mushtaq and others local officers were also present in the meeting.

The Commissioner welcomed officers of visiting team and apprised them of the geographical, cultural, historical, developmental and socio-economic aspects of districts of Faisalabad division.

Giving details of the development projects, he said various mega projects were being carried out in Faisalabad including 25 kilometer dual carriage Canal Express Way, Jhal Chowk Underpass, World’s second largest Children Hospital and mega projects of water supply.

He said that under the district development program total number of 526 uplift schemes were being completed at a cost of Rs 1 billion in Faisalabad, Jhang, T.T.Singh and Chiniot districts while missing facilities were being provided in the public sector schools, adding that Rs1.92 billion had been allocated for 626 schemes. RPO Ehsan Tufail also briefed the visiting team of the officers.

Team head Tariq Najeeb Najmi and other officers thanked the divisional administration for comprehensive briefing.

On this occasion, souvenirs were also exchanged between the visiting team and divisional administration.
