ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mahmood has said that a total of 1449 posts of teachers (direct and promotion) in various cadres are lying vacant in Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) in Islamabad at present.
In a written reply submitted in the National Assembly, the minister said that a total of 791 post of nonteaching (direct and promotion) are also lying vacant in FDE. He told that out of these, 42 posts of officers and 749 posts of officials in various cadres are lying vacant in FDE and its educational institutions at present.
However, the minister further told the House, that there is no proposal presently under consideration of the government to fill the vacant posts of teaching and nonteaching in the Federal Directorate of Education because the matter is sub-judice in the Honorable Supreme Court of Pakistan in form of a CPLA filed against the decision given by the Divisional Bench of Islamabad High Court, in the writ petition No. ICA340/2017.
Shafqat Mahmood told that once the matter pertaining to the regularization of Contract and Daily Wage Employees gets decided by the Honorable Supreme Court of Pakistan, the directions given by the Apex Court will be implemented in true letter and spirit.
