LAHORE: Total 569 road traffic accidents were reported in Rescue 1122’s Provincial Monitoring Cell in all 36 Districts of Punjab during lost 24 hours, in which 14 lives were lost and 471 serious injured were shifted to different hospitals of relevant districts. However, 230 victims sustaining minor injuries were provided first aid by Rescue 1122 on the spot.

According to the details issued on June 29, 244 drivers, 20 underage drivers, 94 pedestrians and 377 passengers were among the victims of these road traffic accidents. The statistics show 103 RTAs were reported in Lahore Control Room, which affected 110 persons placing the Provincial Capital at top of the list followed by 56 RTAs in Faisalabad with 88 victims and Gujranwala remained at third position with 44 RTAs and 43 victims.

The details further show that total 715 in victims were affected by road traffic crashes including 573 males and 142 females, while age group of the victims show that 96 were under 18 year of age, 456 were between 18 and 40 year and rest of the 163 victims were reported above 40 years. According to the data, 420 motorbikes, 68 auto rickshaws, 75 motorcars, 27 vans, 13 passenger buses, 19 trucks and 67 other types of auto vehicles and slow moving carts were involved in aforesaid road traffic accidents.
