Social05 dead, 621 injured in 501 road traffic accidents in Punjab

LAHORE: Total 501 road traffic accidents were reported in Rescue 1122’s Provincial Monitoring Cell in all 36 Districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours, in which 05 lives were lost and 434 serious injured were shifted to different hospitals of relevant district. However, some 187 victims sustaining minor injuries were provided first on the spot.

According to the details issued on July 1, 217 drivers, 21 underage drivers, 85 pedestrians and 324 passengers were among the victims of these road traffic accidents. The statistics show 120 RTAs were reported in Lahore Control Room, which affected 150 persons placing the Provincial Capital at top of the list followed by 58 RTAs in Faisalabad with 65 victims and Multan remained at third position with 28 RTAs and 36 victims.

The details further show that total 626 in victims were affected by road traffic crashes including 474 males and 152 females, while age group of the victims show that 110 were under 18 year of age, 355 were between 18 and 40 year and rest of the 161 victims were reported above 40 years. According to the data, 399 motorbikes, 48 auto rickshaws, 54 motorcars, 28 vans, 3 passenger buses, 12 trucks and 52 other types of auto vehicles and slow moving carts were involved in aforesaid road traffic accidents.
