LAHORE: Total 455 road traffic accidents were reported in Rescue 1122’s Provincial Monitoring Cell in all 36 Districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours, in which 05 lives were reported Dead  and 372 serious injured were shifted to different hospitals of relevant district. However, some 162 victims sustaining minor injuries were provided first on the spot.

According to the details issued on June 21, 177 drivers, 19 underage drivers, 75 pedestrians and 287 passengers were among the victims of these road traffic accidents. The statistics show 105 RTAs were reported in Lahore Control Room, which affected 116 persons placing the Provincial Capital at top of the list followed by 51 RTAs in Faisalabad with 57 victims and Gujranwala remained at third position with 27 RTAs and 23 victims.

The details further show that total 539 victims were affected by road traffic crashes including 428 males and 111 females, while age group of the victims show that 86 were under 18 year of age, 322 were between 18 and 40 year and rest of the 131 victims were reported above 40 years. According to the data, 355 motorbikes, 55 auto rickshaws, 46 motorcars, 24 vans, 5 passenger buses, 17 trucks and 68 other types of auto vehicles and slow moving carts were involved in aforesaid road traffic accidents.
