Social04 dead, 627 injured in 510 road traffic accidents in Punjab

LAHORE: Total 510 road traffic accidents were reported in Rescue 1122’s Provincial Monitoring Cell in all 36 Districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours, in which 04 lives were lost and 457 serious injured were shifted to different hospitals of relevant district. However, some 170 victims sustaining minor injuries were provided first on the spot.

According to the details issued on Friday, 194 drivers, 15 Underage Drivers, 108 pedestrians and 329 passengers were among the victims of these road traffic accidents. The statistics show 101 RTAs were reported in Lahore Control Room, which affected 104 persons placing the Provincial Capital at top of the list followed by 66 RTAs in Faisalabad with 73 victims and Multan remained at third position with 30 RTAs and 41 victims.

The details further show that total 631 victims were affected by road traffic crashes including 509 males and 122 females, while age group of the victims show that  106 were under 18 year of age, 385 were between 18 and 40 year and rest of the 140 victims were reported above 40 years. According to the data, 398 motorbikes, 61 auto rickshaws, 56 motor cars, 21 vans, 7 passenger buses, 15 trucks and 75 other types of auto vehicles and slow moving carts were involved in aforesaid road traffic accidents.
