Social02 dead, 558 injured in 470 road traffic accident in Punjab

LAHORE: Total 470 road traffic accidents were reported in Rescue 1122’s Provincial Monitoring Cell in all 36 Districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours, in which 02 lives were lost and 399 serious injured were shifted to different hospitals of relevant district. However, some 159 victims sustaining minor injuries were provided first on the spot.

According to the details issued on July 12, 199 drivers, 19 underage drivers, 55 pedestrians and 306 passengers were among the victims of these road traffic accidents. The statistics show 116 RTAs were reported in Lahore Control Room, which affected 128 persons placing the Provincial Capital at top of the list followed by 57 RTAs in Faisalabad with 61 victims and Multan remained at third position with 38 RTAs and 41 victims.

The details further show that total 560 in victims were affected by road traffic crashes including 475 males and 85 females, while age group of the victims show that 93 were under 18 year of age, 321 were between 18 and 40 year and rest of the 146 victims were reported above 40 years. According to the data, 362 motorbikes, 64 auto rickshaws, 48 motorcars, 22 vans, 3 passenger buses, 19 trucks and 51 other types of auto vehicles and slow moving carts were involved in aforesaid road traffic accidents.
