Social01 dead, 701 injured in 574 road traffic accidents in Punjab

LAHORE: Total 574 road traffic accidents were reported in Rescue 1122’s Provincial Monitoring Cell in all 36 Districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours, in which 01 life was reported dead and 449 serious injured were shifted to different hospitals of relevant district. However, some 252 victims sustaining minor injuries were provided first on the spot.

According to the details issued on June 26, 225 drivers, 20 underage drivers, 92 pedestrians and 385 passengers were among the victims of these road traffic accidents. The statistics show 118 RTAs were reported in Lahore Control Room, which affected 125 persons placing the Provincial Capital at top of the list followed by 69 RTAs in Faisalabad with 78 victims and Multan remained at third position with 46 RTAs and 61 victims.

The details further show that total 702 in victims were affected by road traffic crashes including 578 males and 124 females, while age group of the victims show that 92 were under 18 year of age, 422 were between 18 and 40 year and rest of the 147 victims were reported above 40 years. According to the data, 447 motorbikes, 68 auto rickshaws, 54 motorcars, 26 vans, 07 passenger buses, 11 trucks and 73 other types of auto vehicles and slow moving carts were involved in aforesaid road traffic accidents.
