SOCHI: The South Korean woman’s short track relay team won the gold medal in the 3000 meters event at the Sochi Winter Olympic Games on Tuesday.

The quartet of Ha-Ri Cho, Alang Kim, Seung-Hi Park and Suk Hee Shim produced a time of 4:09.498 minutes to leave all their rivals behind in the finals.

Canada claimed the silver medal, with just 1.143 seconds separating them from the winners. The bronze medal went to Italy after the Chinese quartet was penalized by the Olympic referees.
