Sochi 2014 Winter Olympic Games: Slovenia’s Tina Maze wins gold in women’s giant slalom event

SOCHI: Slovenia’s Tina Maze won the gold medal in the women’s giant slalom event on Tuesday at the Rosa Khutor Alpine Center during the Sochi Winter Olympic Games.

Maze produced a solid display in her second attempt to win with a total time of 2:36.87 minutes. The silver medal went to Anna Fenninger of Austria, who trailed the champion by just 0.07 seconds.

Viktoria Rebensburg of Germany bagged the bronze medal, with a result of 2:37.14 after two runs.
