KARACHI: Heavy rainfall with thunderstorm lashed Karachi on Saturday morning, leaving at least six persons killed, administrator Karachi imposed emergency in the city after the rain.

Moreover, several areas across the city plunged into darkness and the traffic flow was disturbed in different localities like Saddar, Shahrah-e-Faisal, Burns Road, II Chundigar Road and adjoining areas causing difficulties to the commuters.

According to reports, six people lost their lives due to roof collapse of a CNG station, situated near Nipa Chowrangi.

Two children drowned in a nulla in Korangi while other four died of electrocution and road accidents. Several people were reported injured also.
