SocialShia Ulema Council withdraws call for Sunday’s nationwide protest

KARACHI: The Shia Ulema Council (SUC) will not hold countrywide protest rallies which were scheduled for tomorrow (Sunday).

This was announced by the SUC leader Shabbir Matmi while talking with media persons during a press conference in Karachi on Saturday. He urged the Shia and Sunni communities to get united in fighting against enemies of Islam.

   

The SUC leader said that the Supreme Court and the government should direct the concerned authorities to investigate the Rawalpindi incident and bring the culprits to justice. He also demanded the government to investigate into the torching of 300 Qurans in mosques and Imambargahs.
