ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Saturday expressed the government’s resolve to complete all energy related projects by 2017.

In a meeting of special committee constituted for resolution of energy crisis held in Islamabad on Saturday, the Punjab chief minister said that electricity generation from hydel sources is amongst the priorities of the government.

Shahbaz said that we are working on war footing to reduce the gap between electricity demand and supply. He assured that the country will be steered out of the darkness of power outages.

The Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal told the meeting that arrangements are being made for timely completion of energy projects.

The Secretary Water and Power Nargis Sethi said that PC-1 of Gaddani coal power project will be ready by Tuesday.
