Shab-e-Barat

ISLAMABAD: Shab-e-Barat, the night of reverence and fervour, is being observed tonight across the country with great religious zeal.

The faithful started gathering at mosques with the setting of sun to offer special prayers for peace, progress and prosperity of the country, besides seeking forgiveness for their sins.

It is believed that if someone prays to Allah throughout the night and seeks forgiveness for all the sins he may have committed, he could be forgiven. The entire night of prayer is devoted to asking for forgiveness for the past year and for good fortune in the year to come.

Likewise, several gatherings and Mahafil-e-Naat are also being organized by the faithful to achieve the almighty’s blessing in the world and the life hereafter.

Ulema and religious scholars in their sermons are highlighting the teachings of Islam and various aspects of the life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) so that the followers could lead their lives in line with the Holy Quran and Sunnah.
