ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Senate was told that so far, no amount has been withdrawn/ utilized from the Chief Justice-Prime Minister Diamer-bhasha and Mohmand Dams Fund Account maintained with the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

An amount of Rs 18,648,926,264 as donation/contribution has been received in the Chief Justice-Prime Minister Dams Fund as of October 03, 2023.

The Fund Investment Details issued by the State Bank show that an amount of Rs 7,179,230,709 has been earned as profit on investments of the funds in the Fund Account (Total funds Rs 18,648,926,264).

The details show that funds of Rs 9,560,728,444 as donation/contribution were received from domestic sources while Rs 1,908,967,110 arrived from overseas.

To a question by Senator Bahramand Khan Tangi, the Minister for Finance and Revenue Dr. Shamshad Akhtar told the Upper House of the Parliament that no amount has been withdrawn/ utilized from the Dams Fund Account maintained with the SBP as yet.

The finance minister told that as per directives of the hon’ble Court vide order July 4, 2018, the monies shall only be released from the fund account based on the directives of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of Pakistan.
