ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Minister for Interior Brigadier (retd) Ijaz Ahmed Shah has told the Senate that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has dealt a total of 39,858 Cases in the last five years from 2015 to 2019.
In a written reply to a question by Senator Chaudhary Tanvir Khan, the Interior Minister apprised the House on Wednesday that out of 39,858 Cases, 3,084 were dealt by the FIA’s Anti-Corruption Wing, 2,766 by the Economic Crime Wing, 32,496 by the Immigration Wing, and 1,512 by the Cyber Crime Wing.
Ijaz Shah told that 18,782 Cases related to the Punjab province, 3,043 Cases to Sindh, 3,864 Cases to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 10,369 Cases to Balochistan, and 3,800 Cases to Islamabad.
The minister further apprised the Senate that from 2015-19, 25,202 Cases were decided by the Courts.
The House was told that 5,023 Cases were decided in 2015, 5,635 in 2016, 5,036 in 2017, 5,761 in 2018, and 3,747 in 2019.
Similarly, the Courts decided 7,141 Cases which related to Punjab, 2,635 Cases were from Sindh, 2,193 were from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 10,186 were from Balochistan, and 3,047 were from Islamabad.
