Security forces kill 30 suspected militants in Dera Bugti

QUETTA: At least 30 suspected militants were killed during a search operation by the security forces in various parts of Dera Bugti district in Balochistan on Thursday, the provincial home minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti told media persons.

However, one security personnel also lost his life and eight others sustained injuries during an exchange of fire with the militants.

The provincial home minister said that the search operation was carried out in response to militant attacks against vital national installations and the security forces.

Bugti said that during the operation eight suspected militant camps were successfully abolished. He further said that around 350 kilograms of explosives, 50 anti-personnel mines, arms and ammunition were also recovered from the militants.

Moreover, he said that the security forces also freed two hostages from the custody of the militants.
