SCO Summit in Bishkek: Pak – China Friendship time tested and long lasting

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan: The Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that friendship with China is cornerstone of Pakistan’s foreign policy, the Dispatch News Desk (DND) news agency reported.

Talking to his Chinese Counterpart Wang Yi in the Kyrgyz Capital Bishkek on the sidelines of SCO Council of Foreign Ministers’ Meeting on Wednesday, the foreign minister said that China is our close friend and a strong partner.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi commended Chinese support to Pakistan on important matters and its role in regional peace and stability.

The foreign minister also congratulated his Chinese Counterpart on the successful conduct of second Belt and Road Forum. He said that the success of this forum is a manifestation of International Community’s trust on Chinese policies.

Qureshi was also accompanied by Pakistan’s Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Faisal Niaz Tirmazi.

Separately, the foreign also met the President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Zheenbekov at the Presidential Palace in Bishkek.

The Kyrgyz president welcomed the foreign minister on his arrival in Bishkek to attend the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers’ Meeting.

Sooronbay Zheenbekov said that it’s an honour for them to host the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Countries.
