ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Advisor on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz on Thursday held a meeting with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and discuss the upcoming Heart of Asia Conference.

During the meeting held in Islamabad, Sartaj Aziz sought guidance from the prime minister on the Heart of Asia Conference Pakistan in the context of improving peace and reconciliation with in Afghanistan.sartaj-aziz-and-nawaz-sharif

   

The two-day Heart of Asia Ministerial Conference will take place from December 3 to 4 in Amritsar, a city in the northwestern Indian state of Punjab.

Sartaj Aziz will leave Pakistan on Sunday to attend the Conference that focuses on regional cooperation between Afghanistan and its neighbours for improving connectivity and tackling security threats.

However, the advisor would not hold a bilateral meeting with any Indian top official on the sidelines of Heart of Asia Ministerial Conference.

On November 23, while talking to a private television programme, Sartaj Aziz said that Pakistan was deeply related with Afghanistan and did not want to remain disconnected.

Sartaj Aziz made it clear that Heart of Asia was not a bilateral conference rather it was related to what was happening inside Afghanistan.
