Sania Maskatiya to present ‘Paristan’ at PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week

LAHORE, Pakistan: This S/S ’15, Sania Maskatiya takes audiences on a fashion journey to ‘Paristan’ – a place of fairytale whimsy at PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week, on the final day, April 21, 2015.

Indeed this showcase follows the introduction of the now acclaimed ‘Khayat – The Tailor’ collection and debut of Sania Maskatiya for AlKaram Lawn at TFPW15.

With a colour palette ranging from the softest shades of daybreak to the deepest hues of nightfall, ‘Paristan’ is a collection of playful, dreamlike prêt ensembles. Featuring luxury fabrics like silk, organza, charmeuse, and crepe, the pieces follow the brands signature silhouettes, both structured and fluid.  Beads and sequins embellish varied hemlines and multiple layering, all set against captivating scenes of mirth and magic. Motifs range from the sublime to nonsensical; friendly mice and naughty elves, clocks and teapots, flowering fields and star-filled skies, princesses and ponies. All in keeping with a delightfully vibrant fairy-like feel. For the showcase, Sania Maskatiya has collaborated emerging label REMA for jewellery and Charles & Keith for footwear with a music mix by Shah Munir.

On the showcase, Head of Design Sania Maskatiya has said: “I have long daydreamed of a land where worries fade and frivolity reigns and this Spring-Summer my childhood whimsy finally takes flight! Picture swarms of mellifluous fairies sweeping across a moonlit sky; imagine a spring meadow bouncing with blossoms and overrun with pixies; join a tea party where riddles and silliness are all you’ll be served. Once you do, you’ve arrived at a place called ‘Paristan’.”

The Sania Maskatiya brand is best known for their versatile, specialised prints, textile design based on pure fabrics, unique colours, and fine craftsmanship. The brand has rapidly expanded both nationally and internationally. In Pakistan the brand boasts three stand-alone stores each of which is located in prime shopping locations both in Karachi and Lahore. The brand is further available at select national stockists. Internationally, the brand continues to develop regional and global presence; to that end Sania Maskatiya has been shortlisted for the coveted International Woolmark Prize and is one of the first brands from Pakistan to have staged a solo showcase at the Lakme Fashion Week in 2014. Following the Sania Maskatiya runway show at LFW, Bollywood star Sonam Kapoor wore a piece from the brands collection on the cover of Indian Cosmopolitan. In terms of retail and global accessibility, the brand is further available worldwide through a dedicated e-commerce store, in the Middle East through a stand-alone retail space in Dubai and in Europe, the US, Singapore and India through a series of stockists.

Sania Maskatiya’s #PSFW15 collection will be available for retail as of May 6, 2015.
