The Express Tribune published a news article on September 23rd, 2021 about the establishment of a Samsung TV Plant in Pakistan. Abdul Razak Dawood, Adviser for Commerce and Investment to the Prime Minister, declared the news. He said that Samsung Electronics is in the operation of establishing a Samsung TV plant in Pakistan in partnership with R&R Industries.

We can expect the projects to start operations in the fourth quarter of the year. It will produce 50,000 units of Samsung TV annually. The CEO of the R&R industries, Moosa, has announced the establishment of a manufacturing Samsung TV plant in Pakistan. The company said that it has approved an agreement with Samsung Electronics to set up a plant in the Korangi Industrial Area of Karachi. Abdul Razak Dawood has tweeted, “I have been informed that Samsung Electronics is in the process of establishing their TV line-up plant in collaboration with the R&R Industries at Karachi”.

Abdul Razak, Ministry of Commerce, also added about the policy of Make-in-Pakistan. This is an initiative that promotes multinational companies to operate in Pakistan. This step will instigate industrialization in Pakistan. There are further chances about the affordable prices because of low input costs. Samsung has already set up the production unit for mobile units in Pakistan.

Now, Samsung TV Plant in Pakistan is a step forward to industrialization. It will help local business, lower our imports, and might add to our imports. The production of Samsung TV in Pakistan will help to maintain the current account and increase the market value of Pakistan.

MOC states, “The desired result will be a balanced current account, enabling Pakistan to regain its financial sovereignty.”

Along with Samsung, other mobile phone companies like Oppo, Vivo, Techno, Infinix, Itel, and Realme. According to a report of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority, the local production of mobile phones is worth Rs. 12.27 million from January to July 2021. We can expect the same from the production of Samsung TV.
