Russian defence minister in Pakistan to discuss defence cooperation

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Russian Defence Minister Sergey Shoigu arrived in Islamabad on Thursday on an official visit.

   

During his visit, the Russian defence minister will hold a meeting with his Pakistani counterpart Khawaja Muhammad Asif and discuss matters related to defence cooperation between Islamabad and Moscow.

Meanwhile, in her weekly press briefing in Islamabad on Thursday, the Foreign Offices spokesperson Tasneem Aslam said that Pakistan considers Russia as an important global player which can play a crucial role in the regional stability and development.

The foreign office spokesperson said that Pakistan’s relations with Russia are moving in upward trajectory.

The spokesperson said that Islamabad seeks Moscow’s cooperation for the social and economic development.
