Russia keen to promote bilateral relations with Pakistan

ST. PETERBURG: Russia has a keen desire to promote its bilateral relations with Pakistan in all fields, said the governor of the Russian city of St. Petersburg.

In a meeting held in St. Petersburg, Geogry Polthovchenko also invited Pakistani students to St. Petersburg to study in the fields of Pharmaceutical industries, health, humanitarian aid and others.

On the occasion, the Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq underlined the importance of relations between Pakistan and Russia in all fields especially in economy, culture and education

The Speaker National Assembly said that immense potential of collaboration must be realized by political will and mobilization of resources.

The speaker assured that the parliament through its standing committees would do everything possible to facilitate the Russian business concerns in Pakistan.

Ayaz Sadiq also underscored the need to speed up the process of declaring St. Petersburg and Karachi as sister cities and proposed to hold Russia-specific exhibitions in major cities of Pakistan to popularize Russian products in Pakistan to promote business relations at grass root level.

Moreover, he said that a high level Pakistani delegation would visit Russia in September to further cement trade and business ties between the two countries.
