MOSCOW, Russia: The Russian government is considering the possibility of targeted strikes against Ukraine.

It comes a day after one person was killed and two others seriously injured when artillery shells fired from Ukraine hit the Russian region of Rostov.

“Our patience is not limitless,” a source was quoted as saying by media on Monday. He said that Russia “knows exactly where they (the Ukrainians) are firing from.”

The source said that Russia is considering targeted one-off strikes on positions from which shells are fired at Russian territory.

The fatal incident on Sunday prompted Moscow to warn Kiev of irreversible consequences, for which Ukraine will bear responsibility.
