ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The government has allocated Rs 237.5 billion for construction of dams, power generation and infrastructure development under Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for the year 2016-17.

According to official sources here, in the next PSDP, Rs 61 billion has been proposed for Neelum Hydro Power Projects, Rs 32 billion for Diamar Bhasha Dam, Rs 42 billion for Dasu Dam, Rs 19 billion for New Coal Fired Power Plant and Rs.16 billion for Tarbella Fourth Extension Hydro Power Projects.

In infrastructure sector, Rs.4.5 billion for Lowari Tunnel, Rs 2 billion for Jaglot-Sakardu Road, Rs 3 billon for construction of road network of New Islamabad International Airport, Rs.5 billion for dualization of Indus Highway, Rs 19 billion for Multan-Sukhar Section of Karachi-Peshawar Motorway and Rs 34 billion for Lahore-Abdul Hakeem Section of Peshawar-Karachi Motorway.
