CrimeRental power scandal: Former PM Raja submits written statement before NAB

ISLAMABAD: Former Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf appeared before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Friday and submitted a written statement over the Rental power case.

Ashraf was interrogated for 30 minutes over the NAB’s investigations into 12 power projects in Rawalpindi.

In March last year, the Supreme Court had declared that the Rental Power Plant contracts were not transparent and had asked NAB to recover the money from the owners of the projects with interest for the period they had kept it.

The anti-corruption body earlier this week summoned former prime minister Raja Pervez Ashraf to record his statement in the Rs22 billion RPPs scam.
