KARACHI: Unknown gunmen deprived students of the NED University of Engineering and Technology of their cash and belongings after they intercepted and boarded their bus in Karachi’s Nazimabad area on Friday morning.

Police said that four gunmen on two motorbikes intercepted NED University’s bus in Nazimabad No.1 area of Karachi when it arrived to pick up students. The bus was on its way from Baldia Town to the campus, carrying around 50 male and female students.

The robbers entered the bus and held students hostage at the gunpoint and snatched cellular phones, laptops and cash before fleeing.

Police said FIR of the incident was registered in the area police station.

Last month, five robbers looted the Karachi university bus in the city’s Banaras area.
