KARACHI: The Sindh government on Saturday decided to re-arrest all those criminals who were released on parole before 2008.
A high-level meeting was held in Karachi on Saturday with the Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah in the chair to review law and order in the province particularly in Karachi.
The meeting also decided to shift dangerous criminals to the prisons of other provinces.
The chief minister directed officials concerned to provide and identify area and place within 48 hours so that process of establishing more special anti-terrorism courts in the province could be initiated.
The meeting decided to purchase armour vehicle and bullet proof jackets for the police and equip with modern weapons so that it could efficiently carry out counter-terrorism and counter-crime operations.
It was also decided to beef up security in and around the Karachi central prison and install jammers in the jail.
