KARACHI: Several suspected persons were detained as heavy contingent of Rangers raided several areas of the troubled Liyari on Friday morning.

The sources said that Rangers completely sealed entry and exit routes of Liyari and people were not allowed to enter or go out of the area.

Meanwhile, residents protesting against arrests by the Rangers in Nazimabad No.2 blocked heavy road traffic in the locality and its adjoining areas on Friday morning.

According to sources, the residents staging demonstration against the arrests during search operation conducted by the Rangers torched tyres blocking the road that suspended all road traffics from Nazimabad No.2 to SITE area, Shershah, Gulbai and Hawksbay.

All sorts of vehicles including of those who were on way to their work places were seen queued up much to their inconveniences.
