ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Tuesday reserved the judgment in the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) extraction license case.

A three-member bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry was hearing the petition filed by Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Asif against the grant in 2003 of LPG extraction license to Jamshoro Joint Venture Limited (JJVL) which he said was not conducted in a transparent manner and had prayed for its annulment.

During today’s hearing, the minister presented his arguments before the court. He said he was not worried about losing his post of minister, adding that he would continue to perform his duties with honesty and would assist the court on the matter.

After completion of the minister’s arguments, the court concluded the case’s hearing and reserved its ruling on the matter.
