ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister’s Advisor on Foreign Affairs‚ Sartaj Aziz said in a statement that Pakistan will raise the issue of US drone strikes on its soil at various UN forums.

Talking to media Sartaj Aziz said Pakistan has already made it clear that drone strikes are counter-productive as they lead to civilian casualties that generate hatred among the people.

Sartaj said drone strikes also infringe Pakistan’s sovereignty and violate international law.

He said international opinion is now also turning in favour of Pakistan’s stand on the issue.

He hoped that the United States would feel the international pressure and end the drone attacks.

To a question‚ Sartaj Aziz said Islamabad has initiated several moves to promote good relations with its neighbours.
