Monitoring Desk, Moscow: Russia has strongly responded to comments made by US President Barak Obama about Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday.

Dmitry Peskov, the spokesman for Russian President Putin while talking to Russian media said that these comments are “too much”.

“It is in our understanding – this is too much, actually. This is too much, this attempt to demonize Putin. It’s an unfair display with domestic public opinion. We think this is one more attempt to demonize him (Putin) and at the same time, every day we see growing support, popular support, support of public opinion in those particular countries”, said Dmitry Peskov.

It may be mentioned that US President Obama on Wednesday while talking to CEOs of multinational firms called Vladimir Putin as “nationalist, backward-looking” policymaker.

Obama said that Putin’s reaction to the crisis in Ukraine was aggressive and outdated.

“In part because I think the situation in Ukraine caught him by surprise, he has been improvising himself into a nationalist, backward-looking approach to Russian policy that is scaring the heck out of his neighbors and is badly damaging his economy,” Obama said.
