MOSCOW: The Russian State Duma Chairman Sergey Naryshkin said on Friday that Russia attaches importance to its relations with Pakistan and wants to further strengthen them through enhanced cooperation in all fields.

In a meeting with the Deputy Speaker National Assembly Murtaza Javed Abbasi in Moscow, Naryshkin also agreed for enhancing cooperation between State Duma and the National Assembly of Pakistan.

The Deputy Speaker National Assembly, who is in Russia to attend the Third International Parliamentary Forum, said that Pakistan values its relations with Russia and wants to further strengthen bilateral economic cooperation.

Abbasi also stressed the need of closer cooperation between Russia and Pakistan to effectively combat the evils of drug trafficking and terrorism to ensure peace and stability in the region.
