The Renowned legendary Singer Reshma ji is now a departed soul. She died on Novmber 3 2013 because she had bee battling cancer since 1980.
Reshma was born in a small village Loha that that is in Tehsil Ratangarh district Churu near Bikaner, Rajasthan October 1947.
She belonged to a Banjara (Gypsy) family and her father Haji Mamad Mushtaq was a camel and horse trader. Her tribe migrated to Lahore shortly after the Partition of India, when she was just one month old.
She did not receive any formal education in singing or in any school and spent much of her childhood singing at the mazars (shrines) of the mystic saints of Sindh.
Reeshma ji was admitted to hospital on Apiril 8 2013 due to her critical health conditions. Reshma ji was one of the most famous folk singer of Subcontinent.
