Rawalpindi: Rawalpindi Police claim 70 policemen were injured by PAT workers. Police statement said:

Over seventy police personnel were injured when infuriated workers of Pakistan Awami Tehreek pelted stones at them near airport in Islamabad on Monday.

On the orders of the interior ministry, the police showed restraint and did not resort to the use of force against the protesters.

Injured police personnel have been shifted to PIMs, Polyclinic and District Headquarters Hospital Rawalpindi.

Meanwhile, the Punjab government has announced a compensation of Rs300,000 for the injured police personnel.

Punjab Law Minister Rana Mashood has said that workers of Pakistan Awami Tehreek have not been arrested anywhere in Punjab.
