PESHAWAR: A member of Taliban peace committee and Jamaat-e-Islami chief in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Professor Ibrahim and Maulana Yousuf Shah, who acts as contact person for the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), left Peshawar for Waziristan on Saturday to meet the TTP leadership.
The two left the provincial capital on helicopter which was provided by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government.
Earlier, talking to media persons at Ogi in district Mansehra, Professor Ibrahim described the recent talks between the negotiation teams of the governmental and the Taliban as useful.
Ibrahim said that the issues raised at the first meeting from the government side would be conveyed to the Taliban leadership‚ while reservations expressed by the Taliban were presented before the government.
