POL prices to be reduced

ISLAMABAD: The prices of kerosene oil and light diesel oil will be reduced by Rs 1.24 and Rs 1.02 per litre respectively, while the prices of petrol‚ high-octane blended component (HOBC) and high speed diesel will remain unchanged during February.

It was decided in a meeting between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and the Federal Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar in Islamabad on Friday.

In order to maintain the current prices of petrol‚ HOBC and high speed diesel‚ the federal government will have to bear a subsidy of about Rs 1 billion, the finance minister said.
