ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said on Saturday that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)-led government is determined to act in accordance with the aspirations of the people.

“Our government will never take any step against the wishes of people,” said a statement issued from the Prime Minister Office in Islamabad on Saturday.

The prime minister said that democracy is the future of Pakistan and there will only be rule of law in the country now.

Sharif said that there is an elected parliament, independent judiciary and dynamic media to protect the constitution and rights of Pakistan’s citizens.

The prime minister further said that the country will now only be governed according to the constitution, and through it the identity, security and freedom of the nation will be secured.
