PM directs Nisar to proceed to Karachi

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday directed the federal minister for interior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan to proceed to Karachi to monitor the security situation after a five-hour attack by militants on Karachi airport left several persons dead, media reports said.

In a meeting with the interior minister over the Karachi airport incident on Monday, the prime minister directed Chaudhry Nisar to visit Karachi and hold meetings with the officials of Rangers, Pakistan army, police and the civil aviation.

On the occasion, Sharif also paid tributes to sacrifices of personnel of the security agencies who laid down their lives to foil the terrorist attack.
