Pakistan, Sri Lanka express resolve to boost bilateral cooperation

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Sri Lanka have said that they want to boost their bilateral cooperation.

The resolve was expressed by the Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and the Sri Lankan High Commissioner Jayalath Weerakkody in a meeting held in Islamabad on Tuesday.

During the meeting, the speaker said that Pakistan is committed to further increase parliamentary and economic cooperation with Sri Lanka. He said that the government and people of Pakistan greatly value relations with Sri Lanka in the regional and bilateral context.

The speaker said that besides serving bilateral interest friendship and cooperation between the two countries also contribute to peace, stability and development in the region and beyond.

The high commissioner said that his government also attaches immense importance to its relations with Pakistan and wants to further cement these relations.
