Pakistan, Iran sign MoU to boost bilateral cooperation

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Speaker Iranian Parliament Dr Ali Ardeshir Larijani called on his Pakistani counterpart Sardar Ayaz Sadiq in Islamabad on Thursday.

During the meeting, the two sides signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to boost cooperation for further strengthening democratic and parliamentary institutions between Pakistan and Iran.

On the occasion, Ayaz Sadiq said that two countries want negotiated settlement of regional and international disputes.

The Speaker National Assembly stressed the need to forge unity among the Muslim world and strengthen the democratic institutions.

The Iranian speaker said that his country wants to help Pakistan rebuild its economy and explore all potential to improve volume of bilateral import and export.

Earlier in the day, an Iranian parliamentary delegation led by the Speaker Iranian Parliament Dr Ali Ardeshir Larijani arrived in Islamabad.

The Iranian parliamentary delegation will also have interaction with Pakistani parliamentarians.
