Pakistan army chief attended last prayers of helicopter crash victims

Rawalpindi, Pakistan: Namaze Jinaza (last prayers) of army officials who killed in a helicopter crash in Mansehra region of KPK on August 6, was held today at Chaklala. Chief of Army Staff, Chief of Naval Staff, Chief of Air Staff and a large number of high ranking serving and retired officers and other ranks from three services, people from all walks of life and relatives of Shuhada attended the Namaze Jinaza.

It may be mentioned that Pakistan Army’s Mi-17 ‘air ambulance’ helicopter, carrying a medical team, crashed in the Rani Bat area of Koh-e-Bhaingra hill, around 65kms from Mansehra on August 4 when team was giving to provide relief to people tramped in floods and sky bursting in mountain range. All 12 military official including doctors, paramedic and aviation people on board died instantly after the crash. Bad weather was the cause of helicopter crash hat flew over the mountains while heading towards Gilgit-Baltistan from Rawalpindi.

This was second fatel crash of Russian made MI-17 in last three months as first was crashed near Gilgit having diplomats on board.
