WASHINGTON: The advisor to the prime minister on foreign affairs Sartaj Aziz on Wednesday termed the Pakistan-US strategic dialogue process as the main platform to move towards a broad-based‚ comprehensive and strategic partnership between the two countries.
In his address to the “Pakistan-US relations: the way forward” at the Johns Hopkins University in Washington on Wednesday, the advisor expressed satisfaction on the fact that the relations between Pakistan and the United States are back on a stable and positive trajectory.
The advisor, who is in Washington to attend the Pakistan-US strategic dialogue, said that the US assistance in energy sector‚ especially on Diamer-Bhasha and Dasu Dams‚ is a priority for the government.
Aziz said that enhanced access for Pakistani exporters in the US market is another area of immense interest.
In the regional context‚ the premier’s advisor said that cooperation and coordination on the developments in Afghanistan will continue as a significant aspect of the relationship.
