KARACHI, Pakistan: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif presided over a high level meeting in Karachi on Thursday, during which he directed the departments concerned to accelerate the targeted action against criminals in Karachi.

During the meeting, the prime minister expressed his sorrow on the killing of police personnel in the city. He said that their sacrifices will not go to waste.

Earlier, Chief Secretary Sindh and Director General Pakistan Rangers Sindh briefed the meeting about the ongoing operation in the city.

The meeting was informed that remarkable achievements have been made in the targeted operation and it has been reshaped following the Zarb-e-Azb operation against militants in North Waziristan.

The prime minister also visited Khair Bakhsh Marri’s residence to condole the late Baloch leader’s demise.
