Musharraf files intra-court appeal with IHC

ISLAMABAD: Former military ruler General (retd) Pervez Musharraf filed an intra-court appeal in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday against the verdict of single bench of the court.

On December 23, Justice Riaz Ahmed Khan of the IHC had dismissed Musharraf’s three petitions against the establishment of the special court to try him under treason charges, appointment of its judges as well as Akram Sheikh as head of the prosecution team.

A three-member special court headed by Justice Faisal Arab and comprising Justice Tahira Safdar and Justice Yawar Ali constituted for the high treason trial of Pervez Musharraf has fixed January 1 for his indictment.
