KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Saturday announced to stage peaceful protests across Pakistan against the targeted killing of its Sindh Assembly lawmaker Sajid Qureshi.

The announcement was made by one of MQM Rabita Committee’s deputy conveners Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui in a press conference in Karachi on Saturday.

Siddiqui said his party would hold a candlelight vigil at Mazar-e-Quaid on Sunday evening.

The MQM leader said our party workers were being killed on daily basis. He said MQM lost its third MPA but not a single killer was nabbed so far.

Siddique said conspiracies were hatched in the past also to crush the MQM. Karachi, he said, has been left at the mercy of militants.

“Our workers and supporters are being arrested instead of killers,” he said.

Meanwhile, he thanked traders and transporter operators to observe the mourning day on MQM’s call.
