ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan was informed on Monday that two of the 35 missing persons have died, while the apex court observed that the death of person under agency’s custody is murder and ordered to produce the remaining 33 missing persons in court today.
A three-member-bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry was hearing the case pertaining to the missing persons.
During the course of hearing, Attorney General of Pakistan Munir A Malik told the bench that he was informed by Secretary Defence that two of the 35 missing persons have died during the detention in an internment center of Lakki Marwat. While additional defence secretary said that the two detainees have died of natural causes
Upon which, the bench observed that the death of any person under custody of the agency is murder, and ordered arrest of internment center authorities and filing of case against them.
The apex court ordered for the production of the remaining 33 missing persons in court today. Moreover, the court also ordered for the arrest and registration of cases against those responsible for the disappearances.
